Complete Eye Health for All Vision Needs
Just as life changes, your vision probably changes with it, whether for the first time in glasses or to update the old prescription for lenses, foretold by modern solutions in your eye care watch. All the while, your eyes receive the personalized attention they deserve; on the day of your examination at Dau Family Eye Care, a thorough evaluation is performed, which contributes to the optometrist's analysis of your overall eye health.
Assessments always involve components that assess clarity of vision against ocular alignment and how your eyes respond to light and focus changes. For contact lens wearers, our doctors perform additional tests to ensure the lenses fit comfortably on the eye and allow sufficient oxygen to reach the cornea.
Additional considerations, such as screen time, work environment, and daily activities, inform the recommendations to ensure your prescription is always working best for you—whether you're reading, driving, or staring at a monitor for hours.
Eyeglass Prescriptions-Precision and Comfort
To ensure optimal performance, eyeglass prescriptions are finely tuned at Dau Family Eye Care to meet individual corrective needs. Using their advanced refraction techniques, our doctors will precisely measure your eye's focusing power and identify extremely slight adjustments that might have been required for sharp, even vision.
After the prescription has been determined, the various lens options for creating the visual experience you want are reviewed. The options could be:
- Single vision lenses for correction for distance or reading
- Progressive lenses for a smooth transition between several distances in focus
- Bifocals or trifocal lenses for very specific vision needs
- Computer lenses for working at the computer, as well as relief for tired eyes
- High-index-thin and light lenses for the very high prescriptions
Together with each patient, they have collaborated to achieve clarity and comfort through each patient's lens. The staff then takes pride in assisting you in frame selection, ensuring that the glasses fit comfortably, support your prescription, and match your individual taste.
Contact Lens Prescriptions Comfort through Customisation
Individuals who are using contact lenses may avail themselves of patient-specific prescriptions and adjustments. Our optometrists are well acquainted with traditional and specialised contact lenses—soft or rigid gas-permeable—and multifocal designs.
The fitting process begins with an extensive examination of the eyes, followed by the measurement of corneal curvature and testing of tear film quality. These factors will then help us determine which lens type and size best fit your eyes. You will also be given trial lenses that stay on your eyes for a few days to test comfort before you decide to make them permanent.
Contact lenses offered at Dau Family Eye Care include:
- Daily disposables for easy care and hygiene of the lens
- Other lenses that may be affordable options for bi-weekly to monthly wear
- Patients who have astigmatism can now wear toric lenses
- Multifocal lenses are for distance and near correction, but not just distance
These are lenses with a special design for either unique eye shapes or certain medical conditions.
And our team will also teach you how to insert, remove, and care for your lenses to ensure they are comfortable and promote healthy eyes for many years to come.
